Christmas is here in York

The festive season has well and truly begun in York with the start of the St Nicholas Fair and Christmas markets – a showcase of Yorkshire’s finest produce of food and drink, crafts and gifts.  Take a stroll through Parliament Street down to Thors Tipi and onto St Sampson’s Square where many of the food stalls can be found.  The Judge’s Lodgings house local artists and craftmen whilst all the fun of the fair is located in Kings Square.   Finally the Christmas tree sponsored by St Leonard’s Hospice is sited in St Helen’s Square looking onto the Mansion House.  If there is one thing which York does well, its Christmas! Photography taken by our very own Jo Hollins during a stroll around the markets.
